| People like Pat are so, so rare. Men, women; sports, business, medicine, law, the clergy, public service; national figures or the neighbor two doors down. You just don't come across many people like her.
We're all privileged to have known her, on whatever level and to whatever degree. There aren't nearly enough folks like her on this planet.
Those of you who have youngun's and are casting about, trying to figure out how to raise them, consider using her as a role model, for how to live in public, in private, and within oneself. The world will be a better place if you do. |
