Crossroad for the Program

AD Hart now has the most difficult, albeit well paid, job in college sports. He must transition from a LV program defined and nurtured by the greatest coach in history to something else. This transition must be mindful of Pat's legacy, respectful of her medical issues and ultimately retain a loyal fan base that has never known a program without Pat's leadership.

The current model, two co-coaches assisting Pat, is not a viable solution. We don't know if Holly as THE guy or DeMoss as THE guy Can be the solution. We do know that successful organizations have ONE voice, whomever that voice is. We do know that future recruits will insist on knowing who THE guy is. We do know that the LV program was built on the best players in the nation coming to Knoxville.

Does the new coach have to be a died in wool LV person? Not necessarily. Will any new coach insist on their on staff? Most probably.

Would like to hear comments that don't include wish she could coach forever or she will let us know when it is time.

I agree out of the coaches out there I think Nikki is the best choice. She has proven she can lead, and she is one of our own and probably one of the few names we can land

Softball is run by two voices and is highly successful, just saying.

But i agree with you. This has to be the hardest decision any AD has had to make this off season for sure

Premature thread is premature.

edit: that would never leave.
One of the few names we can land!?!?

This is the best womens basketball programs in the united states. WNBA jobs included. Besides a few names that would leave because they are entrenches in their jobs, and wouldn't leave no matter what, Hart can basically cherry pick whomever he wants. That's not JMO, that's a FACT!!!!

If WNBA player salaries are any indication, WNBA coaches make a whole lot less than college coaches. Any of them would be doable for UT.

College coaches to consider, looks like the financial part is within our grasp:

There are a few who seem to be trying to wrap a blanket around her and push her off into the sunset.
