| I played hs football with Jason when I was in HS. I never saw the guy drink one beer while I was there. He would stay after practice everyday and him and another good player on the team would do a million sprints. Some of the best memories of my life. |

Btw, I'm still trying to find a Musket Bowl score... anyone know how my Trailblazers came out? According to a guy from AM 910, it was a magnificent 5-0 game at one point in favor of Daniel Boone. | South would not have beat DB. Remeber 2006? South was supposed to win thst game. Speed kills and South don't have it. Leave it to a South to speculate what "would" have happened. By the way, South is the school that called and axed the JV and freshman games right after that beat down in 2006. So just don't even speculate because it would have been the same outcome in 2007. If you are so sure of South call and convince them to play DB again; after all it South that wanted to end it all even though both schools made bank at the gate. I guess it is better for South to lose the gate money and talk about how they could beat DB instead of really playing them. |

| did you really pull up an over month old dead thread just to say that?
and DB wouldn't play later in the season. That's why they didn't play this year. No one cares about what happened in 2006. You DB/Kingsport alums have no ability to see reality. DB was not good this year. Not at all. I figured the playoffs showed that, but evidently not. |

DB was not good this year. Not at all. I figured the playoffs showed that, but evidently not. | DB would not play later in the season; that is what you think? I have first had knowledge that DB was willing to do anything to keep that game on the schedule because of the rivalry and potential gate money each team can make at a home game. It was South's decision; not coach Carter's, but South's admin that made the final call. If your theory is right, then why in the hell did South cancel the freshman and JV games? South plays weak local 4A teams and then hit a wall versus Maryville when actual tough teams were thrown in the mix. TN High was the only other tough team in the conference. Region 2 4A is usually a joke minus West and they are down. Try playing Region 2 5A when the teams are from some serouis football areas like Chattanooga and Knoxville because that is what DB faces every year in the playoffs. Round 1 for DB is Oak Ridge, Farragut, Ooltewah, & William Blount etc. Round 1 and 2 for South are M East, M West, Greeneville (a 3A team by numbers) and Daniel Boone? Are you kidding me? Not one of these teams would touch Oak Ridge, Farragut, Ooltewah, & William Blount, DB, or most other teams in their conferences. South did well in 2006 and was slaughtered by DB. South would have been butchered again in 2007. If it makes you feel better to think DB backed away from the rivalry, so be it. But I have never seen South try to go out and play anyone they don't have to. DB plays Oak Ridge every year by choice. We have also played MBA in recent years and are looking for other teams that will actually play DB and not shy away from better teams as South does. South should make it to the semis every year given the cup cake road they have to travel. South never gets past Knoxville. That is one thing DB can put in your face all day. Hell, our conference is Knoxville and we play the usually toughest team in region 2 (Oak Ridge) every year by choice. South fans are the ones blinded by slop. South kids are the ones that drive their cars and trucks to DB by the dozens to DB every year and wave the confederate flag around trying to annoy DB students. South fans just need to realize that South had the FINAL say so in ending the game, that is for sure. More then likely the South admin did it to keep South hope from being crushed and their confidence high. |
