Yep. 4 out of those 5 go to the playoffs only leaving 1 team out.

I still think its better than the Z plan we had a few years ago. During those years in west Tennessee there were teams that were 3-7 getting number 1 seeds in their quarter of the bracket.

Wouldn't surprise me the school drops football. Been 2013 since they've won as many as 4 games and 2010 since they won 6. Could they play against a different group of teams? I know they were in the same conference with Hampton, Happy Valley, Cloudland and at least one other school back in the '60's.

In 2004 they were 8-2!😮😧😳 Maybe they should have Chuckey-Doak, West Greene, Mountain City (3A), and either a small team from western NC or southwestern VA.

Not allowed to mix states for conferences. It has to be in-state schools. I think schools like University High, North Greene, West Greene, South Greene, Johnson County, & Chuckey-Doak would be good options for Unaka for a conference to be in but that's not going to happen now with this new realignment again.

Isn't Mtn. City 3A because Elizabethton plays them in conference? We play 3 teams larger than 3A-Bristol, Erwin and Johnson City.

Yes

Some teams play other teams in NC.

You can play out of state teams, but they only count in a teams overall record not the region record, which determines the playoff teams.

The TSSAA makes the leagues that each school plays in themselves the only way a school from another state would get placed in a league would be if they played in the TSSAA playoffs.

Unaka plays the smallest teams in the area. The school is shrinking, and quite frankly isn't good. Most likely would lose to Johnson Co but 28+. I think Betsy annexed a bunch of what used to go to Unaka, and it hurt them.

Of the mentioned above teams-
University High- No Football
North Greene- Possibly a chance
West Greene- Would lose
South Greene- Loss
Johnson County- Lose
Chuckey-Doak-- Loss

North Greene beat Unaka 50-8.
West, Doak, and South all beat North Greene by 10+.
Johnson Beat Doak by about 20, and lost to West.

Unaka's only win came against Concord Christian. A very very small school.

Johnson County will stay 3A with the new classification.

I meant for conference games. You can't have the mixing of state schools being in the same conference. Of course, you can play teams out of state but they would have to be non-conference games.
