Get a clue and maybe we can talk. | I never said Maryville wasn't good, stop being delusional though. They win what they play.. and that's all you can ask - but its dumb to pretend like there aren't better teams in the state that they didn't play over the years. You weren't even playing the best teams till a few years ago.. and your hardest challenge was beating the mighty Alcoa.. how many students do they have again? They have talent usually.. but are still at a disadvantage.
Everyone on here knows the best football is played in Middle and parts of west TN (and I was born in Knoxville and grew up in Chattanooga and I still am not delusional enough to deny that).. and in the private school division. And you guys rarely play those teams. Like I said - it took a damn miracle for you to beat McCallie a few years agovand McCallie wasn't even close to the best team in Chattanooga.
If you put Maryville, or ANY Tennessee school up against the national top 100 teams - I bet my life it would be a blowout. Sorry, it's just the truth. The athletes aren't in TN and definitely not in east Tennessee.
Like I said, homers gonna home - you are the perfect example.

Like I said, homers gonna home - you are the perfect example. | You are using a game that never occured to support your argument that Maryville isn't the best team in Tennessee. You have loads of credibility.
And if you didn't know how the state championships work, the winner from the East plays the winner from the West. I guess in your mind the worst team in the West always just got lucky to make it to state and so Maryville always played a powder puff for the championship. It is quite funny to me that you see me as delusional for believing the team with the most wins and most state titles in the state, is indeed the best team in the state. Again, you may think you are being objective, but really, you're just clueless. |

Again, you may think you are being objective, but really, you're just clueless. | You're a fool. And yeah - I did make a mistake on the McCallie game - I'll look it up in a minute.. it was 3-4 years ago so I got it confused with another game. Pretty sure it was the power house William Blount after looking through previous schedules. I know it was a common opponent of the former 5A with Farragut/Ooltewah/OR/etc. so it is WB.
And I'm very aware that east faces west, smartass. But you're delusional to believe Maryville has been playing the best teams in the state for the past 10 years. It will be interesting to see how many state championships they win over the next 5 years compared to what they had won before they got bumped up a division.. certainly won't be seeing one every year like when they were able to play garbage team in 4A when they were right on the cusp of 5A student numbers. They'll still be successful, but they aren't a top 100 team in the nation - which was the whole argument in the first place.. and anyone who believes that they are is just straight up retarded. There are probably 15 teams in the state of Georgia alone that would whip Maryville's ass and any TN team for that matter.
And like I said - yeah east plays west in the title game - but you don't play the private school division - which is usually where the best team in the state hails from dumbass.. probably 8/10 times unless one of the giant public schools has a ridiculous team like the Smyrna and Blackman teams a few years back.
Homers gonna home.

Homers gonna home. | smh. You refuse to understand the most simple concepts. I'm done talking about this with you since you only like to deal in hypothetical banter rather than what has actually been accomplished. Good luck with that whole "Maryville doesn't belong in the top 100 and isn't even the best in the state" argument. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

If you're a big enough homer to believe Maryville could stand toe to toe with an of the top 100 then you truly are my favorite delusional poster on volnation.
Simple concepts are that Maryville had their biggest success while playing in 4A and it will show over the next 10 years where they will be fortunate to win a state title every 4 or 5 years rather than nearly ever damn year like they were doing in 4A.
Here's another simple concept - the best football and most talented players play in the private school division.. Ensworth, BA, MBA, MUS, etc recruit more talent plain and simple.
Here's another... the 2006 (and probably 2007) Smyrna team with Wilks and Gray would have wiped the floor with Maryville.. as would Oakland's '08 team.. when Maryville was still beating up on 4A.

Go to a damn middle school game and you can see in about 5 minutes that the competition down there dwarfs what we have in TN. |

| Everyone thought Maryville would stop losing when it went to 5A...and they they would lose when they went to 6A....
They are currently the 6A state champs and their only loss last year came on a back an forth game against another team that was ranked in the top 100 in the nation last year. The did not lose a 6A team. These are facts, not wishful thinking. |
