i think it's great golf was added. the Olympics are one of the few sports that promote individual competition and golf seems like it could promote both team and individual play. i don't see any way this couldn't benefit the game.

any ideas on what course they would play in Rio? how big is golf in South America?

rugby sevens actually, 7 a side, played with 2 7 min halves. the game is played on a regulation sized field so scoring is similar to a 15 a side game. this is great for rugby and for the unfortunate americans who havn't been introduced to the greatest sport on earth.

The GC talked about this during the Pres. Cup on Friday. Somebody will either have to build a course or they will have to remodel one if they want to play it in Rio.

once you actually understand a few of the rules/strategies in rugby it's a great game to watch. Watched a few games with my boss (who is a huge fan) and he explained much of it to me. It should get more play in the US

I wonder how they will do this? Will there be an individual stroke play one week along with a World Cup type team aspect the next week?
