The Championships, Wimbledon 2009 Everyone will be talking about golf's US Open all weekend (including myself), but Wimbledon starts Monday. Seeds were announced either yesterday and today, with Nadal getting the one seed for the men and Safina holding on to the one seed for the women. Nadal may not play though, but I can't imagine he'll miss unless he can't walk. Maria Sharapova managed to sneak into the rankings with her impressive showing at the French after such a long layoff. Who ya picking on both sides? I'm still undecided.

Gotta go with Roger with Rafa out. Not a clue on the women's side, although it wouldn't surprise me at all to see one of the Williams win it.

Spadea, Querrey and Fish all won in straights. Well, Roitman retired when he was out of it against Fish. Blake should have had a much better showing. I'm not even familiar with Yani, who also lost.

I read somewhere today that the last twenty-two men's grand slams hasn't had a winner from the U.S.A. I'm guessing, but that probably goes back to Roddick in the U.S. Open in 2003. |

Murray's serve is huge. Kendrick doing a respectable job hanging with him.
