| | VN GURU | The 2009 Players' Championship By the middle of the day sunday I'll be burnt out on Johnny Miller, but that's a small price to pay for the pleasure of enjoying one of the great weeks in golf.
'Live From' coverage early on by Golf Channel has really enhanced my ability to immerse myself in these big events, the week starts tomorrow now.
My early pick... Ian Poulter. |

| | Wave yo hands in the aiya | I like Boo. Played great yesterday and is a ball hitter. Putting sucks, but look at last year's champ. |

| | VN GURU | It just struck me this weekend that Poulter seems really comfortable with his game right now... |

Have to like Ogilvy in almost any tournament. He's got absurd game and hits it into the stratosphere. Wind murders him because he doesn't hit many knock-downs and such, but he can flat play.
Mickelson also has it tuned in reasonably well. Tiger's driver is abysmal, so this will be tough for him unless they take the rough down like Quail Hollow did. I'm starting to think we are going to see many more tourneys with lowered rough because it lets the guys who are long, crooked and deadly from short have a chance and gets the TV ratings up. We're seeing many courses that now suit Phil, Tiger and the like. Had Quail Hollow played like it did the first few years on the rota, those guys would have struggled to make the cut. |

| | VN GURU | Did Tiger's putting routine look different to you this weekend? I thought his feet weren't as wide and his 'last look' was quicker...
He's usually a robot over the putter. |

He's usually a robot over the putter. | really didn't notice. I hope it was, because he's a horrendously slow player. I'm an Angel Cabrera fan now because he's ready to hit about the time his partner's ball lands. |

| Leave the driver at home Tigs. He was hitting the 3 wood well over 300 coming in.
Orange+white, I didn't notice anything with his putter but his swing had a much quicker tempo to it. He his obviously not confident with his swing and it sounds like he might be loosing confidence in flatten me out Haney. We shall see. I wouldn't classify him as a favorite at TPC because they actually make you hit fairways.
All that said, you don't take a year off and return to form in 2 months. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| Bpv, are you going down? My gf looked at tickets and they are extremely reasonable for the whole week package. I am going to make that one a priority in the future, just couldn't this year. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

Next stop is likely Bethpage, but even that one is still up in the air. |

| Tiger hasn't hit his driver straight since he finally abandoned the 975D and he's hitting every other club in his bag crisp and pure. From the sound of things he's more upset with Nike than anything else. I noticed a lot of Nike guys have gone back to last year's Sumos. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| So its Nike's fault that he is flat, shut, and gets stuck behind the ball?
I always knew it was the clubs fault.
(No offense to bill, I was just saying if Tiger is blaming the driver, he may want to review the tape.) Posted via VolNation Mobile |
