ok here is the latest......

he has an injured groin and isnt supposed to be practicing.....but this morning he was on a seperate field than the rest of the team running routes with an assistant coach.

after practice Andy Reid (eagles head coach) pulled him to the side....an argument insued and supposedly Owens used expletives....Reid then suspended him for a week.....he has not talked to anyone in camp. he has blown off autograph sessions....

reporters interviewed him at his home and he said that he was paid for one thing.....performing on the field...he says he is not paid to talk or sign autographs........

what is next? should the eagles get rid of him?

hell he is the best wr in the nfl.....i would take him. even if it was for one season......it would be worth it.

what do u guys think?

I like TO and all, but he needs to shut his mouth and play football. It's already insulting enough that these guys get millions to play, we shouldn't have to put up with his attitude and listen to him bi*ch and moan. Shut up and play!

Hm... I like TO. He isn't quite the best WR in the game right now (Randy Moss at least is better) but he is still right up there. I even supported him in that whole contract mess. But I agree. He's on the field now, he needs to get out there and play.

That's unreal. TO needs to get over himself imo. Another example of a player thinking he is bigger than the game.

No the eagles shouldn't get rid of him. He's the one of the best receivers in football. Send him to the titans if the eagles dont want him. The only reason he does the crap he does anyway is for publicity.

I may be in the minority, but I think the whole thing will get resolved in the next 3 weeks and everything will be forgotten by the time opening day gets here. Both sides have too much to lose.

I'd take Owens, just not his weasel of an agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

I HATE that guy.

Sorry duckman, but I have to disagree. Yes, TO is a great reciever, but he is also a cancer imo. I don't want him anywhere near the Titans camp. He is the closest player in the NFL to the Leon character in the Bud commercials.

I wouldnt mind him being a titan. He just wanted his money. He risked his career for the eagles in the superbowl last year and this is what they do to re-pay him. Well you know what? they arent going to be very good next year without him. Definently no superbowl.

Whatever happened to honoring a contract? If he were a FA then I say go for it, get all you can, but he knew the terms of his contract when he signed it. But instead of honoring the terms, he claims that he can't live on what he is making. Give me a friggin break.

I actually agree with you, but that dosen't excuse what TO is doing. or any other holdout IMO. If I were Lurie I wouldn't negotiate one iota, and there would be no release, no trade, no nothing. If he wants to sit at home, let him sit at home for the next six years. By that time his career will be over and he has pissed away millions. That's what I'd do to send a message to all the other chowderheads who want to hold out and claim that they can't survive on their millions.

yeah thats real smart right there. Given him free money to just og home and sit. They better get rid of TO and get something back for him or it can get real real ugly for the eagles.

I'm just all for eliminating the double standard. If NFL Franchises don't have to honor contracts, neither do players.

I'm alright with Drew Rosenhaus. IMO, he's doing the right things for the wrong reasons.
