I was reading where Reggie will honored in Philly.

A ceremony will be held and his #92 retired.

Im sure Tennessee will also hold some type of pregame or half time ceremony. I dont know if it would be held early season or a bigger game such as GA?

I personally think it would be nice to do it at the opener...

Thats what i was thinking as well. We didnt really get to honor him as he deserves in the Cotton Bowl.
But being back home in Neyland, right off the bat seems fit to honor him for the player and man he was.

I share the sentiment, but I don't think we do that. The only retired numbers are for fallen soldiers.

Peyton's #16 was supposed to have been retired but I saw someone wear it last season.

I didn't think #16 was ever retired. Rashad Baker wore it until 2002, and now Rick Clausen does.

#16 Rick Clausen

#92 Justin Harrell

I agree with GAVOL, #92 would be appropriate. It just isnt something UT does.

Not that maybe later? #92 is removed from the roster.

It was a ceremonial thing. They did "retire" Peyton's jersey, but not the #16. There are only 4 numbers retired, and they were for soldiers killed in WW2. I think something similar would be appropriate for Reggie as well.
