does anyone know how they're gettin all these top recruits??..I mean they already have commits from the #2 SG and the #5 SF..and rumor has it that teammates Greg Oden, #1 in 06 and Mike Conley, #4 PG are going to commit soon. if you go to scout and look, everyone they have as prospects are in the top 12 of their position besides 5 of them. do they have the best recruiters? or what?

Thad Matta is a awsome recuriter! Living here in Central Indiana I got to watch him closely when he was at Butler. He turned that small school into a program that could hang with almost anyone in the country. I think the fact alot of people know him in the Indy area might help him land Oden and Connley. If he does, watch out! OSU will flirt with an undefeated record soon!

Ohio State gave themselves probation last year, hence why they weren't in the Big Dance.

The consequences from the O'Brien era will be punished in the past, by stripping them of their Big 10 titles and final 4 appearance while he was the coach there(like the NCAA did with Michigan for the fab 5 scandal.)

OSU will be tough, they had a quality team last year and didn't lose anyone, plsu their recruiting is finally up to par with other big schools. Matta is a great coach and great recruiter, and OSU has the facilities and program that can turn out to be elite.

They'll be a top program soon enough, they were good enough to be in the dance last year and they'll certainly be in it this year.

But still, no matter the basketball team, football will always reign in Columbus.

We'll see about that, I'm just happy that things are finally looking up for the Ohio State program.

Oden will only be there for one year, but an OSU player will have a good chance of being the #1 overall selections in the NFL, NBA, and WNBA drafts in 2007.

Obviously Oden wll be the candidate(and a very strong one) in 2007 for the NBA's #1 overall selection, then if Ted Ginn declares after his Junior season OSU will likely have the #1 pick in the NFL, and OSU Center Jessica Davenport will be a senior and graduate that year as she has a good chance at being #1 overall in the WNBA 2007 draft.

That's some mighty fine talent right there.

Nah, he's right. A lot of players will go one year and out to the draft now. The NCAA will penalize programs for that happening, making it harder for schools to entice top players, which will probably even out the talent around the country and the only powerhouses will probably be in places with a lot of talent. So, probably schools like Washington, Syracuse, etc. will be able to hold it down that well.
