90th PGA Championship

i admit i don't know much about the South Course at Oakland Hills. looks like it plays about 7300 yards and is a par 70.

weather looks to be pretty good for the weekend and maybe a few showers on Thursday or Friday, which could change.

i'd like to see Kenny Perry win it. or one of the club pros playing, but we know the odds of that happening are pretty low.

who ya got winning the bastard child of the majors?

I think Lee Westwood is due. He has played well all season....challenged at the US Open. He is driving the ball LONG and STRAIGHT right now creating wonderful scoring opportunities for himself. I don't think you can count Lefty out and Goosen might be prime for another major. He has played well in recent weeks.

"Feel good" pick would be Kenny Perry or Rocco. Would probably rather see either one of them win it than those previously mentioned, but I don't think it will happen.

The course is a beast, but I think the rough has been taken down a bit. That helps eliminate some of the freaky winners that US Open courses give us.

I wouldn't be surprised at all by Westwood winning it. He's driving it very straight and that relatively new, mega-slow takeaway putting has been a godsend to him.

His chipping and pitching are still a relative disaster, so he better hit a ton of greens if he's gonna win.

I actually like Mickelson here because it looked like he was onto something with his driver on Sunday.

I'm looking outside the box a little this weekend..

KJ Choi, Robert Allenby

Not far outside the box, just a little.

I like the Choi pick. Don't think Allenby can win a major. He seems to get rattled a little too easily at times. Usually over his own play.

one person who isn't watching this weekend: Tiger Woods.

he mentioned as much today on the Scott Van Pelt show. right after he surgery he said he spent most of his time sitting on his butt playing video games. he also said he can play real golf much better than he can his video game.

funny because i'm the opposite. i'll just tell people that's the difference between me and him.

ain't a good setup for Furyk. If he's gonna win, he better stop sliding on putts and make a bunch of them.

Ain't a good settup for a rookie, either. If Kim can place on the front page on a course as tough as this is reported to be, with as much pressure as he's going to face, I will be astounded.

Furyk just has a knack of hanging around the top 10....if a few things go the right way, he could be there.

Kim is just a young talent......can he keep it together for 4 days? dunno......but he did have a gret tournament out here at Quail Hollow......

Kim won at Quail Hollow, and that's as quality as any course the big boys play.

"Quality" is one thing; "major set-up" is another. The PGA isn't exactly the US Open, but I still don't like a rookie.

this is the major that a rookie or first time major winner is most likely to take. Why not, 'cause Kim is a bad motorscooter.

I'd like to see him win another Major to get over his meltdown at Winged Foot

I don't really care if he ever wins again (except Ryder Cups), but if he drives it well, those nasty greens give him an edge.
