my buddy was calling him Phail Mickelson after that late round disaster Sunday.

yeah, he's great player, but he can also be pretty fail in key moments too. personally, i enjoy a good Phil melt as much as a Norman melt.

can't stand mickelson, but he needs the boost for the Ryder Cup team, IMO.

Appleby. He's due. He's got tons of game. Many players seem to win their first (and sometimes last) major at the PGA. That being said, it wouldn't shock me to see someone win it completely out of the blue, a relative unknown, this year's Rich Beem.

Haven't gotten to see any and can't find the stats, but Karlsson is killing it and Mickelson with 3 bogeys and 2 birdies through his first seven must be hitting it all over the lot. That ain't good with those hideous greens.

Yep . . . The PGA tends to give us winners like Mark Brooks, John Daly, Rich Beem and Shaun Micheel.

Appleby has had a bad habit of folding up like a chaise lounge on Sundays of majors. Would like to see him get past the choking

btw, DirecTV is up to their usually awesome selves for the Championship this week.

channels are in the 700s. one channel specifically the par 3s. one channel of the featured group(s) of the day. a mix channel and the TNT broadcast, all right there.

Appleby is the best golfer within 50 mile radius of Oakland hills.

I actually never said that. My statement was taken totally out of context. UTIE95 is living proof of Golf Law #6 ...
The higher a golfer's handicap, the more qualified he deems
himself as an instructor.

This was only after he was foolishly arguing with me concerning the importance of keeping your eye on the ball and your head down.

Hey, if it works use it. I enjoy a little sarcasm every now and then.

Daly is playing with Vijay today. they're both way off the fairway in deep stuff after their opening drive. Daly is about 10 feet out, now. Vijay left his second shot short.

this could be an entertaining group today.
