| Tour 18 in Houston. Plenty of other good courses here in the US and Germany but Tour 18 was one of the best.

| Great River in Milford, CT, a Tom Fazio course, was reasonable at $90 for 18 on a Tuesday mid-morning, most of the prestigious courses in my area don't let you play unless your family came over on the Mayflower.
Fun round from the whites, though they could make it alot more of a sticker if the felt the need. I think i shot 102, which was a victory for me.

It was drizzling rain, so it was soft, and there wasn't that much wind. I also hacked it around on the River and Irish courses for the two days before, and played much better on the Straits, so that could weigh on my opinion as well.
One of the things that really impressed me was how different all three courses were (I didn't play the fourth--Meadows?). They were all top notch, but each was a unique golf experience. My wife actually rated it above Pinehurst as a destination. |

If you're looking for an unbelievable golf resort / destination style spot, give Bandon Dunes a shot. Courses (especially BD) are unbelievable as are the accomodations. |

Pinehurst and Kohler are both <2 hr flight with no connections + < 2 hr drive. It makes it much easier to go play golf for 3 or 4 days if you don't have to spend an entire day getting there and another getting back.
I am actually thinking about Reynolds Plantation for the next time I can schedule a golf getaway. It's driving distance. |

| On a more local note, I keep hearing better and better things about Olde Stone. I have a couple of friends who are members, and I keep meaning to make the loop, but I haven't yet had the chance. |

| 1 - Edgewater CC
2 - Forrest Oaks CC
3 - Kiawah Island
4 - Harbor Town
5 - Tanglewood CC
6 - Tigers Eye
7 - Blackstone CC
8 - The Dunes Club
9 - World Tour Golf Links
10 - Caledonia
That's my top 10 in no particular order with Tigers Eye being my favorite and Forrest Oaks ( course is seriously long and the rough is death ) and Harbor Town ( small greens and the wind ate my lunch after the turn ) being the toughest.

| I'm jealous. I'm just now to the point where I can afford to hit up some of the finer golf destinations (both from a financial and an ability standpoint). I've got a Hilton Head trip planned for September, and I hope to do a couple of nice 18's while there.
Of the courses I've played, I have enjoyed Stonehenge (Crossville), Tennessee National, the TPC Tampa Bay, El Diablo (Citrus Spring, FL), and locally, River Islands. I also played a nice course near the bridge in Destin years ago and a Davis Love course near Jacksonville that were very nice.
