Malkin makes the same amount in the NHL as Radulov and turned down a deal worth twice as much from the KHL.

(Malkin was offered 12.5 million by a KHL team for 5 years...he went to the Ray Shero, told him he wanted to stay in Pittsburgh and they hammered out a deal that will pay him half of that...but doesn't kick in until 2009-10...which means Malkin decided that he would rather play for 1/13 pay in Pittsburgh than bail on his contract to play in Russia...even when there's a chance he could have a career ending injury and never see a dime of the money from his new contract).

Of course, they are leagues apart in both ability and - as this shows - class.

Time to start pulling the numbers off the Radulov jersey.

He was only here for one full season (and part of another)...that's not really enough time to make a fair comparison...although he obviously has some screws loose since he just screwed over his NHL career.

The best part of this...if the KHL flops and he crawls back to the NHL...he will still be under contract to us for one season.

Apparently Radulov was offered 23.3 mil US$ for 3 years to come to Russia. The Preds front office dont seem to think it will happen from their statement, but why would you want him back after his comments about how happy he is to be back home finally.

Personally I say fight to get him back and trade his ass because he apparently doesnt want to be here. He will never be the fan favorite he was if he comes back.

I agree. I really like him though. He's a great scorer and I love his enthusiasm he brings. It would be ashame to see him go. But on the other hand, I really don't any player on our team if they don't want to be there.

GO PREDS!!!

So, for some of you more informed Hockey fans out there. Who are the FAs we can go after since it seems we wont be having A-Rad? We need someone who is a great goalscorer.

No one. Or we would have already gone after him. Mark Parrish or Glen Murray are the two best options but they are way over the hill.

They are not going to replace that talent through free agency. As mentioned above, there are not any options available and even if there were the preds are not in a financial position to pay what it would take to bring in an elite forward.

Poile could bring in a fringe top 6 player. What you are seeing is a GM so confident in Patric Hornqvist's ability that he would rather give him a shot first than overpay for one of the band-aid type players.
