since i was born. my old man was fan of Gordie Howe as a kid and passed his love of the Wings on to me through my favorite player, Steve Yzerman.

Laraque says no to the Preds.

Poile had money to spend but everyone else who did over spent and he refused to spend too much which is good but we didnt really upgrade for the coming season. Maybe hes hoping to finish last and get Tavares in the draft. I might trade one terrible season to get that kid, hes the next Crosby/Ovechkin.

Tavares is going to be a bust. He wasn't even the leading scorer on his junior team last year.

During his second season in the OHL, Tavares was invited to participate in the 2007 Canadian National Junior selection camp, but was not selected.[8] [9] Later in the season, Tavares played two games for the OHL in the annual ADT Canada-Russia Challenge, including one game in Oshawa. On January 25, 2007, Tavares registered a 7-point night in a 9-6 win versus the Windsor Spitfires. He scored four goals and three assists, including his 50th goal of the season in his 44th game. [10] On March 16, 2007, Tavares broke a mark previously held by Wayne Gretzky by scoring his 70th and 71st goals of the season as a sixteen-year-old in the OHL.[11] On May 2, 2007, the OHL announced Tavares as the winner of the Red Tilson Trophy as the most outstanding player in the league.[12] Tavares was also awarded the 2006-07 CHL Player of the Year award, for being the best Major Junior A hockey player in the Canadian leagues that year.[13]

Doesnt sound like a bust to me. He may not have been the leading scorer but he still had 118 points in 59 games, pretty damn good if you ask me for a 16 year old kid.

He's no Crosby or Ovechkin, don't get your hopes up. Plus the Preds will be nowhere near getting him.

I'm more excited to see Patric Hornqvist and Antti Pihlstrom in camp. I think they along with Colin Wilson and Ryan Jones have a chance to bump some of our fourth line grinders like smithson and ortmeyer out of the lineup

I am pretty sure Horn and Phil will make the squad, Horn for sure. Wilson and Jones maybe but I think Jones goes to Milwaukee for a bit and Wilson back to BC for one more year. I would love for them to just bring them in and let them learn but they are known for making everyone go through Milwaukee at some point and not rushing anyone. I am tired of hearing about Franson as well, bring him up and lets see what hes got.

Wilson will most certainly go to BC for 1 more year. He is the real deal but I think it is best to let him mature one more year in college.

just to clear things up, wilson goes to BU not BC. But I agree he will go back for a year. He is NHL ready though.

Any reasons stated. He just never seemed to put it together. He had great potential and showed a flash here and there but never could be consistent.
