Tiger has 10 wins(two major) and 2 second place finishes, and a Fedex cup since he actually ruptured the ACL. A hall of fame career for others played entirely on a torn ACL. Man that's just crazy.. |

I 'm tired of the "Hogan" comparisons in newspapers and blogs around the country about this great win with an injured knee. Hogan almost died! Tiger took 8 weeks off for a surgery that keeps a hockey/football player out for 4 weeks. Give me a break. If he was not ready to play, he would not have played. He WILL play in the British Open. It's all part of the Tiger mistique! He is the BEST athlete in the world. No question about it! He is Ali and Ruth! | I can't hear you...

The fact is that even when he has been hampered by an injured knee for the last 10 months or so, he was still kicking tail... imagine what he could have done if healthy.

"He's going to better than ever," said swing coach Hank Haney of his star pupil. "Think about it. His knee hasn't been right for a long, long time and he's won, what, 10 of his last 13 tournaments, with two seconds and a fifth?" | And all that on a bum knee...

| Sucks to have Tiger out. There goes the TV ratings for the rest of the tournaments this year.
My dad, a huuuuuuge golf buff, says in light of the news about Tiger's surgery, he called Tiger's U.S. Open performance the gutsiest and one of the greatest ever in televised golf.

The torn ACL obviously didn't hamper his golf swing and likely wasn't causing him pain, or he would have had the surgery sooner.
I know we all want to make this heroic story of this injury, but it didn't turn into the issue that it was this weekend until, well, this weekend. |

I do think it is safe to say he's been in considerable discomfort with the knee for a long time though... |
