Lesnar doesn't have the presence of mind that veteran fighters like Mir have...but experience is something that can be acquired. Lesnar was a bit out of control in that fight - but he showed that he has the kind of awesome power and physicality that can make him a contender with the heavies. |
I talked to Frank a few weeks after his fight with Lesner. He thinks BL will do well in the MMA world because he already had a great wrestling background. He also said that he never felt like he was in trouble during the fight. Remember, Frank has been hit by guys who punch harder than BL. He said that the only time he got worried a bit was when he was transitioning to the armbar and then flexed, he realized that Brock was to strong and couldnt pull it. Frank is smaller for a heavyweight but that was the first time that has happend to him. He easily transitioned to the ankle and the rest is history.
Experienced fighters (especially BJJ guys) can work out of just a ground and pound.
