Sports "Bucket Lists"

With the Derby coming up next weekend, I am reminded again of how much where I live sucks in terms of sporting events.

but I have a list....sporting events that I gotta do before I'm done.

in no particular order--

1. Kentucky Derby--duh.

2. Super Bowl--Just to say that I've done it--I've heard it sucks in person.

3. UFC in Vegas--unless TN legalizes MMA, then I'll be Octagon-Side for the first time Rampage puts the belt on the line in Memphis.

4. Final Four--I'd actually rather do a 64-32 weekend, as those games are usually better.

5. an Olympics--just because.

6. NCAA wrestling Championships--I should have done this by now, and will probably do this one next year.

Show your Lists, and tell me what I'm missing from this one.

I think I'd rather go to an AFC or NFC championship game rather than a Super Bowl.

There is absolutely nothing like being in the building live for a medal ceremony when they raise the flag and play the Star Spangled Banner.

I'm assuming you went to a few events when it was in Atlanta. Which ones?

I can't say for sure, because I haven't seen either, but I assume that it would be comparable to the fans singing the Star Spangled Banner before a US world cup game. Unless you hate soccer.

I got to see Swimming and Diving at the 96 Olympics. It's different from the pregame singing. They'd start the song and raise the flag and you'd look down on the podium and see the winner and see "I did it!" all over their faces and you couldn't help but share in the sense of pride and pure joy.

The person who won the medal must feel like a king in that situation. Wearing a gold medal while they play the national anthem for you. I just prefer the world cup because it it seems to be more unifying as a team game as they take on the world.

btw, Firebirds, I've always wondered how you managed to call the Eastern Shore home. I think you told me once before, but I forgot.

It's an absolutely gorgeous place to visit, but I can't imagine I'd be happy living there over year or so.

the list is supposed to include things that actually happen or might happen. this doesn't meet the criteria.

I agree completely. I would LOVE to go to The Masters. I also want to go to the U.S. Nationals in Indy. From the quietest sport to the loudest.

Fulfilling one of mine this summer. It is two fold.

1) Yankees game in New York before I'm done
2) Yankees game in Yankee Stadium before it's done
