Kelvin Sampson Busted - NCAA Sends Notice of Violations (merged)

From the "We all knew this was coming" department...

ESPN - Indiana gets list of alleged violations related to phone calls - Men's College Basketball

Indiana's decision to hire Sampson is looking pretty bad right now.

It's just sounds weird to read about sanctions being imposed on a coaching staff by the school. I realize that schools do it to try to avoid worse penalties from the NCAA, but it still sounds odd when schools are basically damaging their own chances of winning.

I understand it, but it still reads funny.

They knew he was still under probation when they hired him from Oklahoma. Caveat Emptor.

If Rick Greenspan doesn't fire Sampson post haste, the university president needs to roll up on him. I bet Ted Kitchel and Joe Hillman are laughing their asses off right now.

What the fans want and what AD's want are two different things.

I hope he wouldnt go. You never know what could happen if a program with so much tradition like Indiana came calling with a lot of change. Hopefully we never have to worry about something like this happening but it is something that could happen.

i really don't see us having to worry about that. cbp has something good at ut and has built the mens bball program back up. if he can take us to a nc and win he will have it made!

Even if they fire Sampson, won't the program still be under some sort of punishment? Why would he want to walk into that?
