I'm a boxing purist, and honestly, i don't get the gist of MMA. However, i don't trash MMA, it's a seperate entity, different sport.

Yeah... it is different. You could take Rampage and make him have to box and RJjr would probably tear him up but reverse the roles and put them in an octagon and Rampage is the man. I like both... but boxing the thing about boxing I cant stand is that no one wants to fight anyone simply for the fight... it's always about the $$$.

There's really not alot to get when it comes to MMA... its just a fight... best man wins. More a battle of wills.

i agree, but if it keeps growing at an exorbitant rate, the fighters will say "show me the money".

As i understand it, at the present, MMA fighters are contractual much like the major team sports and Pro Wrestling. All it takes is for one top fighter to leave his contract and demand XYZ for a fight, and the rest will follow suit

Never cared for it.

On a business level I don't think they are marketing their fights right and also aren't making their product as premium as it needs to be.

Big fight card coming up for Feb 2nd.

UFC® : Ultimate Fighting Championship®

I like the Nogueria v. Silvia matchup but the 2 I'm excited about is the Frank Mir v. Brock Lesnar fight and the Jeremy Horn v. Nate Marquardt fight.

I think Mir's gonna get the better of Lesnar. Lesnar's new to the game and Mir has been improving steadily since his accident... just too much experience for Mir... I think he submits him 1st round.

Yes Jeremy Horn is back... looks like Thales Leites got injured and Horn took the fight on short notice but he's a pro and will be ready. Cant wait to see it. I like Marquardt but when I found out Horn was taking this fight, it got me pumped... Horn in 2... submission.

Big Nog & Silvia... this one has slug fest written all over it. Nog is beatable but so is Silvia. Both will take some punishment... I like Nog in a decision.

to tell you the truth, I never really followed it.......

what's that, you say? I'm (if not the first, then definitely the) Loudest to post on any and all things MMA here?

and I have Fedor tapping out God as my av?

and a Rickson Gracie quote as my sig?

nah, still don't think that makes me an MMA "fan".

Cov, talk to me and we'll see if we can keep some MMA at the top of the board on a consistent basis.

I like Fedor but if he's not going to go out there and fight the best, he's not a true Champ in my book. I think Couture's going to go out and seek a fight with him and settle it... we'll see. Big Nog has fought Fedor 2 times... one loss... 3 rounds and one NC so he's not invincible. I wish Dana White could've ironed something out and got him in the UFC. We'd have him and I think Coutore would've stuck around just to fight him. But yeah..... Fedor is a beast... love watching his fights.

I feel exactly the same way about Fedor, but I dug the pic so much that I had to steal it.

I wrestled with Mid-South Wrestling club at the same time as Rampage, though I doubt he'd remember me now. unreal to see him go from 5th at the TN state tournament to Fighter of the Year. shows how much we can improve if we will listen to the right people.

I wish I had done something like this when I was a kid. I love football but it's not good for your longterm health. I got so many joint and back problems right now and it's almost all from football. I'm definitely getting my kid into MMA... it's fun and it'll wear hit butt out I hope.... 5 yr olds are full of energy.

Rampage... man that dude is fun to watch. He talks trash but it's usually just him being a wise a$$.... not being serious. Alot of my pals dont like him cause he runs his mouth a bit but he's a really good fighter... top 3 UFC pfp IMO. Cant wait to see him & Forrest fight... Forrest is my fav... the guy just has so much charisma, it's hard not to like him.
