Better them than us. He was NFL experience with the Bears, so this doesn't surprise me.

I do believe LSU is going to have some down years whether he goes or not.

See, this is why I think UT has been steady through the years. We have a staff that's been here a while. Yeah, some say that is just stale, but see what happens with LSU now. There are some big benefits to knowing the coaching staff is going to be there and have a very successful history.

Well, Pelini and Crowton were the brains behind the operation for the Tigers.

Now they're down to a glorified caveman.

At least they got a trophy.

Yeah. We have a 9-year track record of abject mediocrity with not even one conference title in that span. We know that UTK will continue to be mediocre for the forseeable future because the hfc does not have the inclination to hire people who are willing and able to bring this program into the 21st century. LSU may or may not have a down turn but I bet you they will win the SEC championship again before UTK does.

Why does LSU keep getting all these top coaches like Crowton, Muschamp, Pelini, etc. Why can't UT get studs like these guys?

Phil does not like to have those kind of coaches in the mix and the hunt on his staff. It's a control thing.

We do. Ask your wife/girlfriend/other who the bigger stud is - the guy that can keep it happening for her over the long run or the guy that wows her one time and peters out (so to speak).

What happened? I started in one part of the forum and ended up somewhere else. Did I go through some crazy forum vortex?
