Indiana/Kentucky

this match up has lost a bit of it's luster on the national scene over the last several years. but if you're still a fan of either of these two teams, you still hate the other one with a disgust that cannot be put into words.

i like IU to win in Bloomington.

4:00 pm. CBS.

Both teams are depleted with injuries, though.

Kentucky, on the other hand, could very well make their first NIT appearance in almost 30 years.

I think that it will have been 23 years for the NIT (1985) and 17 years for no postseason (probation in 1991). EDIT: Nope, you're correct. 1979 for the last NIT appearance. I was way off. Sweet 16 in 1985. I thought they missed the NCAAs after the 1984 Final 4 run (that included playing the '84 regionals at Rupp).

when you're bought up in the religion of Indiana basketball by two parents who are alumni, yes, a Kentucky loss to Indiana in basketball trumps a Vol victory.

Yeah, I looked it up and made the edit. Now, I'm wondering why I always thought that. That basically dates me as a fan. I go back to 1985-86.
