at least they are smart enough to now have him on a year-to-year basis. i've heard reports in the past that Bowden and Paterno are each highly covetous of the all-time wins record so this will probably continue until one of them is dead or physically and mentally incapacitated.

The agreement allows Bowden, now 78, to coach for as long as he wants, according to the statement. Also he is getting an increase from 1.7 mill to just under 2.5 mill.

Oh I agree. I'm sure they would coach with headseats from their hospital beds if possible.
