| How many still think Spurrier is a genius? He won at Duke.....okay, that's impressive
He dominated at Florida....innovative coaching personnified by superior talent...IMO
He sucked bad in the NFL...
Now 3 years into a stint at USCe and he's locked down his third straight 5 loss season...
I'm not saying he's a bad coach...I'm just not as eager as some people on here to claim he's a genious
He's 3 seasons into his job at USCe...this is the year that he's supposed to have his system and players in place...
If he's so brilliant and his coaching is so unparralleled then he should have USCe in a much better position by now...
At this point there no better off than they were with Holtz

| Was innovative at Duke and Florida, but the defensive coaches caught up with his schemes, and they don't work as well anymore. |

| Lou Holtz was 33-37 at South Carolina. Steve is 15-10 (before this year) so far

| I still think he's THE horse in SEC coaching. Let's not forget that he's shackled with SC and third year is not when we should expect great things.
As to the silly NFL comments, nobody could have won with the football team the Redskins had - Nobody. |

| I was amazed at how many on this board said they would welcome Spurrier with open arms. |

| One question here....Has Spurrier ever lost 6 in a row?
One statement here...Althought Lou Holtz cant talk all that well, and his pep talks are pretty much a laugher...He did win a couple of NC at Notre Shame...I think he won back to back maybe it was just one, someone clear that up for me please...

| He had a really good recruiting class last year. They may be in decent shape. I think SC and UTK will be battling for 3rd in the East through at least 08 and 09. |

At this point there no better off than they were with Holtz | it's all relative. talking SC football, he's going to go to three straight bowl games(or at least be eligible to go to three straight....), they beat GA, and he's beat Clemson, TN, and FL since he's arrived. to SC fans, that's progress.
