South Carolina

It's amazing to even consider that the ol ball coach may be on the hot seat next season if he finishes this season at 6-6 and ends the regular season with a 5 game losing streak, which is very likely with his last two games vs Florida and Clemson...

Will the expectations at USC be so high that he might have to win an east title in the next 2-3 years to keep his job?

yeah but it's hard to imagine them winning the east anytime soon...they basically have to beat two of the three east power houses...

and a 6-6 season after year 3 when he said they were ready to compete for a SEC championship?

As long as they are competitive, I can't imagine any sane SC fan advocating a coaching change. Those poor fans have been subjected to so much disappointment over the years that I think it would take finding Spurrier with a farm animal to get him on the hot seat.

he's recruiting well and it's not as though they've been winning NC without him.

People are acting surprised. Doesn't matter who the coach is - SC will start strong, enter the polls, and then finish off the season struggling to become bowl eligible. Same story, different coach.

If it were a chicken, they'd crown him king.

it's all relative with SC. beat GA and Clemson occaisonally, go to bowl games, and be competitive with TN and FL et al in the SEC and that is a resounding succuess. every once in a while, they'll have a team capable of going to ATL. they haven't had that yet, but i still expect SC to go to ATL at some point in the next 3-5 years.

and yes, they love him down there.

They'll fall out of love with him if he goes 6-6 and follows it up with another average season. Yes they love him now, but make no mistake SC fans want a winner and I mean a title winner.
