I just don't get "it"

Last night I watched the Hawaii vs. San Jose State game here and there while I was working. I really didn't think much about it but when I got home I turned on ESPN and started surfing the net.

On Sports Center they gave the whole "Heisman" canidate speil, and then on other national websites they also gave much of the same for Colt Brennen. All refering to the San Jose State game.

I don't get it? The teams that San Jose State played have a combined record of 3-15. That includes D1-AA California-Davis. How is a come from behind victory against a team like SJSU a Heisman game, when you are on a #16 team?

I'm not saying Brennen isn't a good QB, but man the media is shoving this kid down the viewers throats.

Thoughts?

The bogus thing is they are actually considering letting this garbage team into the BCS.

Did they not have to come from behind to beat SDSU? HW will get rolled in a BCS game.

Brennan vs LSU's defense; this would show what a fraud he really is.

So? Last year, Boise State had close games against Wyoming and Hawaii, and had a come-from-behind win against *GASP* San Jose State! Jeez.

We'll have to see how the season wraps up, but the precedent has been set between Utah and Boise State pulling off BCS wins. If Hawaii goes undefeated, they will get a BCS game.

Utah beat a terrible (8-4) Pitt team. Pitt shouldn't have been in the BCS that year.

But Boise just played their hearts out and won against a VERY good opponent.

At least BSU could beat the OSU team that beat USC. Hawaii will lose the BCS game 60-30.

And the BCS rule that makes it easier for mid majors to get in is garbage.

This is one of those times where the transitive theory doesn't work. OSU is still a very mediocre program, but they do get up for the big games. They proved it last year and they proved it last night. But Mike Riley is the Sly Croom of the Pac-10.

Besides, if there is a BCS game between a mid-major that you think doesn't deserve a spot and the winner of a horrible conference (Big Ten this year, for instance), what does that say about the BCS? One too many games, perhaps?

What I'm trying to say Is BSU looked impressive at points last year. I still didn't expect them to beat OU. Hawaii has absolutely no defense, and I would be stunned if they could beat a good team in the BCS.

I agree that Hawaii has looked shaky over the last three games. We'll see how they turn out, they have a tough three of the last four with Fresno State, Boise State and Washington visiting. If that doesn't weed them out with a loss, then I'd say Hawaii will get their spot in the BCS.

I think they will be there. I will be really mad if they lose, but there is an upset in the ACC championship, and Hawaii can still get in.
