| Jasper Brinkley out for season... South Carolina's best defensive player is out for the year with a knee injury. This adds insult to injury because they lost a starting D-lineman before the LSU game for the season. Now they're starting Smelley at QB... they look a lot more vulnerable now. |

| from the last ESPN The Magazine in an article about the Brinkley brothers: Biggest Fear? Solo they wrote: Cap: None
Jap: Tearing me ACL
a bit further down he says:
It seems like every person in their senior year gets hurt, and it's always the ACL. I remember I tweaked my hamstring in spring practice, and all I could think was ACL, ACL, ACL.
any word on the specifics of the injury? |

If they can find a way to beat Florida (not beyond the realm of possibilty), Spurrier will go down as the best coach ever in the SEC. |

| According to Spurrier, they expect Brinkley to get a medical hardship and return to the team next season. |

| That's a shame for Brinkley, a bit ironic as well. |
