Is there anyone else on here thats sick and tired of ABC/ESPN talking about "Heisman Candidates" 2 months before the season starts? Just how do you become a Heisman candidate? Is there a special test you take? I thought every player in college football was a candidate??? I wonder what "Heisman Candidate" they give it to this year....another joke that wont ever take an NFL snap.

P.S....I wasnt actually asking these questions to get an answer....I know the answer. Im just being facetious because I despise this Heisman BS.

the heisman has become a national joke, but I think the schools with candidates drive the hype moreso than the networks

OMG i hate it. They had Corso and Desmond Howard give thier top 5 last night.

I could give a big steaming pile of crap what Desomond Howard or even Corso, who is the president of a pencil company by the way, says about the Hypeman.

I would be happier if they totally eliminated this garbage award.

if you honestly think that Woodson deserved that trophy over Manning, then you need to be institutionalized. But on the other hand.....I guess thats why one of them is a washed up has been DB....the other is a 2 time NFL MVP...Super Bowl MVP.....with a 130 million dollar contract and more endorsements than you can count. Yeah....Woodson deserved it.

And even though Troy Smith bombed in his final game, he was great during the season. While I think McFadden probably should have gotten it, Smith did make a great case through 12 games.

And though this has nothing to do with college, Woodson made four pro bowls and was the defensive rookie of the year in 1998. He wasn't washed up.

I was 6 at the time... I can't really say for sure he was the best. I just hate hearing about how it was the biggest scam in history.

Charles Woodson was a great player at the time. Keep in mind that Heisman is for best college player not best pro prospect. I do think Peyton deserved the award but I'd rather be where he's at today in his career than Woodson. I was more upset with Chris Fowler's comments that year.

P.S. Hey tvolsfan, how did you become a D-backs fan? Just curious, I'm a Dodgers fan, I already know, we stink.
