. . . .and yet they are at almost the same lattitude. It's confusing and a bit of a misnomer, IMO. Jacksonville to Tampa is actually a shorter drive than Tampa to Miami.
For clarification: The University of Tampa is adjacent to the bay, just west of downtown, enrolls around 5,000 students (if I remember correctly), and is quite visibly marked by buildings with striking metallic spires.
USF's main campus is in North Tampa, has an enrollment number in the vicinity of UT, and may be the ugliest I've seen. It does, however, have an
excellent Pediatric Residency, which includes training in both Tampa and St. Petersberg.
