BLAZERS: Oden Undergoes Microfracture Surgery

Quote:
An exploratory arthroscopic surgery performed on Greg Oden today revealed cartilage damage to the Portland Trail Blazers rookie’s right knee. Oden is likely to miss the 2007-08 NBA season.
That was a quick end to the best rookie debate. Sorry Milo

That was cold. Sorry, big guy.

Sucks for Oden... has the NBA already released their national TV schedule of games for the 2007/2008 season?

Damn, man.

Folks here are worried that this will be Sam Bowie all over again, especially if Durant kills it up in Seattle.

It could turn out to be good in the long run. The Blazers will likely suck again and have the opportunity to land another top 5 pick in next year's draft.

Maybe fringe top 5... The Western Conference will be insanely tough again, but there was improvement last year. Inconsistent improvement, but last year's team was far removed from the one that posted the worst record in the league with a bunch of malcontents.

Portland will be fine Amare Stoudamire had the same surgery & is better than ever.

Its not like they were gonna win the west this year anyway.

They seem to know how to draft good in Portland so they'll probaly be picking high again with a good opportunity to get even more talent around Oden & the defending rookie of the year Brandon Roy

Knee surgery is really rough on seniors citizens.

If I was a Jail Blazers fan, I'd be worried this might hurt Oden for his entire career.
Think of all those people that must've snatched up season tix to the Blaze.
