| | Stooooooooops! | Spurrier still uppity, even tho heīs at 4th place in the East U. "If anybody watched us tonight, we'd be lucky to be picked fourth in the Eastern Division. I bet Kentucky and Vandy looked better than our team tonight. But anyway, we don't play for two and a half weeks, so hopefully we can make some improvement." http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/spo...ry/159540.html |

I think it's genius to try and motivate a team by comparing it with the likes of Kentucky. |

Itīs not very kind to tear down your brethren- of course, tact is not his strong suit.
Genius is not providing bulletin board material. Itīs pretty stupid, imo.
Am I the only one thatīs detecting a growing sense of frustration in Gamecockland? I wonder if the ole ball coach still has it in him. |

I'm tired of all the coach speak, positive and negative...I'm just ready for the season to begin. |

However, there's a big difference between the talent he had at UF in the 90s and what he has at South Carolina now. I think he's getting frustrated because, unlike 10 years ago, he just doesn't have enough players that can do what he wants them to do. |

I think I would be worried if my school had just offered a contract extension to Rich Brooks. No frustration here. And as for your stellar 4th place finish last year (with SEC West tilts including Ole Miss and Miss. State), let's not forget that Carolina also notched their 7th straight win against your Cats in 2006.
I think what's misunderstood by 95% of the people is that Spurrier is aiming for higher goals than the first two years (win more than we lose, and win the bowl game). I don't think South Carolina will win the SEC this year. I don't even think we'll win the East.
But, go ahead and put this on your cork board, we'll notch #8 against Kentucky this year. See ya October 4th.
p.s. I'm still thankin' you for beating Clemson in the bowl game. |
