exactly. Faders have more control over the ball than hookers (unless you go for the high dollar type).

If it doesn't work you can "discard", throw it over the fence on #16....

I'll give it a go..

Gotta go with the tide on the scrambles. Played in a vendor sponsored scramble last week. A raw gross 49 took it!!!! rediculous!!!!!! We shot -1 with no A's. At best, 2 B's, a C, and an F. A sandbagging team can destroy all but the toughest courses.

Took my 4 year old back out yesterday. Got my tee shots back on track and got back to mid-high 80's. Was in a sweet groove I've never enjoyed back in the fall. Last 2 rounds could barely get past red tees. Think I'm working it back out. Hope it comes back. Shot 79-85 most every round in hte fall. Best streak in a long time. Only broke 90 twice this spring.

That's pretty good chasing a 4 year old around the golf course

Went golfing for the first time in years the other day. Went to a public links across the highway from Pumpkin Ridge ('97 and '03 US Women's Open). It was a bit rainy, but the greens still acted like cement.

I did okay... Managed to nail one par, and lost only a few balls through 18. Not bad for only having been to a driving range once in the last 5 years. And I kept up with my buddy who has a 6 handicap.

It worked like a charm yesterday in a scramble I played in. There was a par 4 playing only 271 and the fairway was baked so it was hard as a rock. Everybody looked at me like I was nuts when I put the driver back in the bag and pulled a 3 wood. I proceeded to pound a hooking 3 wood to within 6 feet of the pin.

Thankfully, I didn't have to make the putt.

I love it when a plan comes together. Nice shot GA.

Speaking of hooking the ball. So far I have dropped close to 30 pounds, and it is creating havoc for me off of tee. I used to have a natural draw, but now that I am lighter my hips are getting through before my hands. When I really go after a drive the result is a hard fade. It is controllable but annoying. You would think I would find a way to get my hands through the freaking ball.

Believe me now and hear me later . . . EMBRACE THE FADE with the driver. If you don't have a problem with distance off the tee, it's one of the best shots in golf.

I think I am coming around GA. Because of my iron length I do not miss the extra 15 yards. Must let pride die...die....die.

In all seriousness, I am much more comfortable from 170 or 160 out than I am from 90-75 out. I really need to concentrate more on "down and distance."

Word... I was playing in some thick stuff. I need to regain my ability to flop a shot down from 50-75 out. I used to be able to do that like a champ. But, like I said, the greens I were playing on were ice, so maybe it was exagerrated...

Sadly, from experience I can tell you that there is only one remedy for improving your wedge game.

Believe it or not I have tried the range. I think I simply need a lesson. I cannot hit a full wedge from 125 in. It is a curse, not a blessing.

well i discovered that i should stick to the driving range. based on the last time i played golf and my last trip to the range, it's apparent that the pressure of playing just gets to me........lol.

i was actually happy with the way i hit the ball, and seriously, i think i figured out one major thing with my game......my grip.

i went to the range and just decided i'm not going to kill it. 3/4 swings, let the club do the work etc, etc, etc...all the cliches...

but, i did realize, my grip had been way to tight. i started hitting the ball much better, not doing half the work. we'll see how it plays out this weekend...

still got a bit of a slice off the tee....
