The Next Time The Debate About The Greatest College Football Team Of All Time Starts:

Remember this fact. 11 of the 22 starters for Miami in the 2002 Rose Bowl against Nebraska were first round picks. That number doesn't include Vince Wilfork, Sean Taylor, Antrell Rolle, Vernon Carey, and Kellen Winslow, who were backups.

Were you suspecting a spark of this debate? Just wondering hat, if you knew which players left from the 2001 team before the 2002 season. I hate delusional Buckeyes saying they beat a better team in 2002.

I do believe before 2002, they lost the whole secondary including 3 first rounders. (Buchannon, Reed, and someone else I can't remember.) Lost some other guys I'm pretty sure including Shockey and Portis.

Mike Rumph was the other defensive back. Shockey and Portis were gone.

Any OSU fan who thinks the '02 Miami team was superior to the '01 crew has been using airplane glue in an unventilated space.

No, I was just reading an ESPN.com article about Butch Davis and that factoid was part of it.

There's really no arguing that.

The 2001 'Canes are the most dominant team of all-time, in any single season.

Now that team from over there over the ocean in the OB, baby is floundering in mediocrity.

dan, thanks for another humorous assumption. Miami would have absolutely demolished that Bama squad.

Apparently you have no idea what your talking about and hey-thats ok. Al Franken can come to your home and in his fluffy warm cardigan he can say stunna your good enough , smart enough, and doggone it people like you. But you'll still be wrong the 92 bama D had the best 4 db's and the best 4 d linemen in college ball I ever saw.

And the 'Canes had the most star-studded lineup in the history of college ball. But hey, that's your opinion. Let's simulate a best 3 out of 5 on NCAA Football 08.

your not stupid, you know as well as I do star studded isnt an accurate measuring stick. The 92 team in Bama had chemistry...they were IMO the most seamless defense I ever watched.
