| Tito Ortiz v. Dana White WTF...Ortiz backed out of their 3 round sparring match that was set to air on Spike TV.
Is this a publicity stunt designed to build up the hype and a storyline?...will it culminate into a match on a ufc pay per view event?
Or will the fight really never take place? |

Dana's actually a former boxer...and while Tito is a world-class fighter, he's not much of a boxer. |

| The fight didn't take place.
It was a waste time, except it was an excuse for Dana White to lose his gut and make Ortiz look like a money-hungry ingrate. That probably didn't take much. |

| yeah, I know it didn't take place...the question is, will it take place down the road?
If this is an angle to build up hype, and they add this match to one of their pay per view events, it's a savvy business move.
But, if they wasted the fans' time by promoting a taped event that didn't even happen, it's a pretty stupid move....you can't hype a fight and then not deliver it. |

the next PPV in April is free.
It sounded like Dana White was up for a beating and Ortiz decided to spare him. Unless Ortiz decides he really wants to hurt him I doubt it would ever take place. |

| Considering the number of top boxers Dana White defeated and the number of top MMA fighters Ortiz defeated, Ortiz would give him a beating. |

| I agree that Ortiz would win this fight...in fairness to Dana, the Nevada state athletic commission evaluated both fighters, and 2 of the 4 evaluators agreed that Dana was the better boxer.
Again, in an MMA fight, this would be a murder...but boxing's much different. |

At one time, when the UFC was under previous ownership, Dana worked as Ortiz's manager...they were great friends....but, when the opportunity came along for Dana and his partners to buy the UFC, Dana had to drop his clients, Tito and Chuck Liddell.
Tito says Dana turned his back on him...but Dana had the chance to become president of UFC...he couldn't continue to manage fighters and serve as president at the same time.
Tito got pissy, hired some hollywood agent, started demanding a new contract, and began badmouthing Dana at UFC pay per views...Ortiz ended up out of the UFC for a while, but the two eventually came to an agreement on a new contract...but, in the contract, Ortiz made Dana agree to box him for 3 rounds so that they could finally settle their differences and move on as friends. |

I'm kind of new to the whole UFC thing, I've been into it for about a year or 2 I guess. I almost like Pride better
