In the SEC teleconference today (around the 22:45 mark), he said something that I've been pointing out as the key to his success (and the reason why he will win another National Championship in the next 3 seasons).

"...especially the way we're going to recruit from here on out. We recruit every freshman now to play. There's no redshirts at Florida. You're going to play."

What a recruiting tool. He will run circles around the rest of the conference in talent alone because kids want to play, and he's giving them an opportunity to play. He's also not afraid to give it to freshmen playmakers (i.e. Percy Harvin, Tim Tebow).

1. He has the Florida pipeline locked up. Anything you get out of state will be what they cull...

yea there is only 25 good players a year that come out of florida.

well florida is the best recruiting state...add that to Meyer's recent success and you have got a stacked team every year...but as we saw in 2005, recruiting does not directly lead to success and i am still not convinced that Meyer's offense will work in the SEC in the long run.

Yep...Florida St. and Miami may as well pack it up and focus on tennis.

Florida is the hot team in the state right now, but they'll still get plenty of competition on the recruiting trail from FSU and Miami...and there are some kids who just want to get away from Florida and play out of state. The Gators will recruit well, but it's not as if they'll be the only team getting good players.

He made it work with a QB that wasn't even mobile. Now he has Tim Tebow and Harvin and is not afraid to put freshmen in positions to make plays.

This is bad news...

I am not trying to defend this guy, but I think the fact that Florida play a lot of true freshmen (13 last year, if I am not wrong) will be a very good selling point to their recruits, especially those high school standouts.

FSU is in a downward spiral with Bobby Bowden. He was able to cover his coaching flaws with trick plays until the early 90's and talent going into the late 90's/2000. I actually consider him a worse gameday coach than Fulmer (just my opinion).

Miami is in transition and could be back in 2 years, but right now, the momentum is going in Florida's direction.

Like I said, in the next 3 seasons, Florida will win it all again. Book it...

This is bad news...

you talking as if tebow is a better qb than leak...here in gville, all they used to talk about ws if tebow should be starting...fla fans really don't know how much they will miss out of leak until they see tebow start...tebow will be a bust, write it down...harvin on the other hand is talent and with the right play calls (which was an issue for fla last year), he will run all over fla's opponents....

The only problem with this philosophy is that it is self-defeating.

If you get the best players in the nation in the class of 2010, some of them are going to see the field. If you do the same for 2011, some will see the field. However, for the class of 2012, you will begin running out of opportunities for these freshman to get playing time.

It is a good philosophy while installing a completely overhauled offense. However, it dries up quickly.

Tebow could be a bust, but his poise last year showed some real potential. I'm hoping he is a bust, but I'm not counting on it.

Tebow will not be throwing the ball around the field like Leak his first 2 seasons in Florida. You will see Florida run a lot of misdirection plays to catch overly aggresive/undisciplined defensive teams in bad situations.

I disagree. By their junior year (or the summer of a players junior year), you can make a determination about whether you want to ride that player or bring in a freshman to give the upperclassman a push.

You're not supposed to be handing out playing time based on tenure... give it out based on performance. Or if the performance of the upperclassmen gives you about as much on the field as a newcomer, side with youth and try to develope the younger guy.
