DJ and Gus Williams were a great backcourt for the championship Sonics team.

DJ was a class act at all times. Something hugely missing in the NBA today. Rest in peace freckle faced prince.

Bob Ryan made a very good point on ESPN. DJ was one of the more unique players the league has ever seen. There's nobody in the game today that plays the 2 spot the way he did.

Truth. Fantastic defender. He is definitley a b-ball legend in the PNW, few have ever played the position as well as DJ did in Seattle.

Slick Rick says, this is a very sad day for professional basketball. D.J. was truly one of the good guys that played in the NBA. Slick Rick remembers, D.J. playing with Bird, McHale, Parrish, Ainge and Walton in Boston. He was part of some of those special teams.

Never saw him play/didn't know much about him... all I really ever knew about him was he was the guy that scored after Bird stole the ball on the inbounds play against Detroit, having seen that play a few times over the years.
