Baseball Fans...

the season is upon us. I'm going to watch the World Champion Cardinals(that's for you, Vader) Monday against FAU in the exhibition opener. Let's get everyone's predictions out on the table.

The Cardinals will finish third place in their division this year.

Low and behold, the Cubs will finally win the division, but screw up somehow in the playoffs.

I'm bias, therefore I think the Braves will be NL East Champs. New York has their big guns but their pitching is stank. Smoltz gets 20 wins, Hudson finds his niche, Hampton is comeback player of the year, Chuck James pitches like a young Glavine.

Andruw drops head, Chipper stay healthy, Francour learns how to take a pitch, McCann does it like McCann. The younger guys get nasty.

I can only hope.

If anyone beats the Braves, it will be Philadelphia.

Chicago will find a way not to win the Central. That's my prediction.

Ozzie from the White Sox makes news with Jay Marrioti, also a prediction.

I dont care for baseball unless I see the Marlins beat the hell out of the Yankees with about half the payroll. That was a sweet World Series. I respect the Yankees history but not the fact they try to purchase all there wins, like the Cowboys.

That is very true, but I don't see Ryan Howard doing what he did last year. Utley will be average after that huge deal.

I could see it comming down to Atlanta and Philly in the final weeks.

Half the payroll? Last I checked it was about a tenth of it. (And yes I'm being literal.)

I meant the Cubs. Everyone is picking them because of the money they spent. They'll find a way to blow it.

All those star players means that rehab starts will be for the Tennessee Smokies (they are in the Cubs Orgz. now aren't they)?

the cubs won't make the post season...again.

the red sox and yankees will be crammed down our throats....again, regardless of who is actually in 1st place.

I'm already tired of hearing about Jeter and A-Rod sleeping on each other's couches.

I'm a huge red birds fan. I love'em and go see them very often. No one was happier than I when we pulled it out.

Here are my picks.

NLE- Philly
NLC- Cards
NLW-Padres/Dodgers (I know hedging a little here)

ALE- Yankees followed close by Blue Jays
ALC- Motor city kitties
ALW- A's

The two divisions that will be the closest will be ALE and NLW

The AL Central will be closer than the AL East. There will be three teams in contention going into the final week.
