Top High School Basketball team in the U.S.

Okay sports fans, where would you think the winningest high school basketball team comes from? Is is California, New York, Florida, Illinois, Texas?


It's from East Tennessee!

This was in the latest SI today. Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN) won their 2,000 game last Friday replacing Centralia, Ill. Dobyns-Bennett beat Sullivan Central (Blountville) 65-55. Centralia was the top team overall last season but Dobyns-Bennett overtook them and is steadily moving away from Centralia. D-B is currently 14-7 this season while Centralia (1979 wins)is 4-11. Some of you (East Tennesseeans) may know that D-B was originally in the "Old Big & Conference" years ago but I think is now the "Big 10."

Nice work. Oak Hill is the top HS program in the country, but good work none the less.

i think tennfan is referring to best all time. and DB definitely has that mark right now. i wonder who has the best winning pct?

They may have won more games than any other team in HS history, but that doesn't make them the best, just the winningest.

D-B has a very good sports program. Their football program isn't shabby either.

Actually it was later found out that the school counted one season twice. After this was found the title was returned to us, The CENTRALIA ORPHANS, of centralia Il we took the title over 70 years ago and we currently have a two digit lead over the tennessee team. we currently have more wins than the university of kentucky.
