Between Games In The Bluff City...

some observations. 1. I am now officially calling for a coaching change at UT. The individual in charge of our dance team should be immediately terminated. Then, any money earmarked for raises for certain coaches should be offered to whoever is responsible for the Memphis Pom Pon Squad. Those would be funds well spent. 2. CUSA is killing Memphis. They simply do not get enough big time games to stay sharp. 3. Southern Miss is one more recruiting class from being the biggest threat to the Tigers. USM is about to be rewarded for their brilliant and gutsy decision to hire Larry Eustachy. 4. As a younger man, I had a couple of opportunities to go into coaching. The end sequence of today's game is an example of why I could never enter that profession. USM plays perfectly, then gets killed by an Andre Allen 3 with about a minute left. I would probably slit my wrists if I were Coach Eustachy. 5. Willie Kemp had better get used to the bench. When Derek Rose arrives next year, he will be hard pressed to get on the floor.

Thats why the good ones get paid so much. Coaching has to be one of the most stressful jobs out there.

Absolutely. You do everything right, then a nonshooter slops in a shot. That lack of control over events would land me in an asylum.

Did you catch the UNC/Zona score? Terrible effort by the Cats today..UNC was without Wright and Ginyard as well.

memphis should've put together a bigger push to get into the big east. i dont know how south florida got a bid over memphis other than the memphis AD didnt do a good job of putting that together. pre-season i liked having gonzaga in feb. but they dont look that great either. jeremy wise is gonna be the real deal for usm. they'll get there. i think uab will rebuild into a decent team, houston has the history and potential to be a good team, but overall cusa sucks right now.

have fun at the grizz game hat. the tigers play twice the D the grizz do.

Coaching?I could see it now,"I think we just witnessed a new record distance tossing of the chair across the court, bypassing Bobby Knight's distance by a record 20 feet". Possibly Woody Hayes tendencies as well.

Didn't our dance team just win a National Championship?

As usual, Arizona is soft. When things are going their way, they are fine. Give them a little adversity, and they pack it in. That said, Carolina is rounding into the monster I expected tham to be. Kansas, on the other hand, is not quite there.

All very well said. If Rose is half of what he is hyped up to be, Kemp will be riding the bench a lot next year. He has kind of been a disappointment so far. Memphis is a COMPLETELY different team when Dorsey stays out of foul trouble.

As for the Memphis dance team........

RC Johnson made a pathetic attempt at getting Memphis in the Big East. I think the Big East wanted to keep a large media market in South Florida though.

It was NOT Memphis' decision to stay. Though you would think so by RC's attempt.

They also lost Marcus Williams with 4 minutes left in the first half to the same type of injury Lofton had, but they were still playing lousy then too.
