| Petrino stay away!!!! I am from Louisville, Ky and have bled Orange since I was 8. I am actually responding to a post regarding a 2 year look into the future, but didn't want to get caught up in the responses. If Petrino leaves Atlanta ironically the same time Fulmer should for some reason leave Tennessee, voluntary or involuntary, keep Petrino out of Knoxville!!! He never stays in one place long and tried to get out of Louisville each of the four years he was there!!! Year 1, Auburn, Year 2, LSU, Year 3, Oakland Raiders, and finally in year 4, Atlanta. He is nothing but a snake in the grass!!!! We as Vol Nation should be thankful, like him or not, that we have a coach dedicated to the school as well as the state. But, for my other two cents, when Fulmer leaves, hire Cutcliffe before someone else does!!!!! |

| Never liked him or the way he killed Kentucky and left in his best players when the game was well in hand. He seems classless to me. |

| He is a smart man and a brilliant offensive mind, and like most people he always has his best interest at heart. He is the Rick Pitino of football. |

| But what does that do for the program and the fans? People need coaches to be the face of the program like Neyland or a Bryant, not for their program to be a door mat or a one night stand. He crapped on UofL. Not that I am complaining, I don't like Uof L football |

I would say he did more than you could expect in a basketball town filled with a bunch of yahoos. |

| he's a good coach, i know that much. and personally, i'd of loved to see what he could've done in Knoxville with the talent we have.
does that mean i'd expect him to be there for 15 years? probably not.

I just think it hilarious that all those Louisville fans have dusted off their hats and sweatshirts to wear during football season. I see red all over the state now.
I have had an opportunity to meet Petrino on a few occasions, and I think he is a decent person. I also think that it is unrealistic to think he could be happy coaching the highschool stadium they call Pappa Johns for the rest of his days. |

| Lexvol, I agree. When they started getting "OK" in football, all the UL fans started talking crap to me when I was out wearing my Big Orange saying they could beat us and bashing the SEC when the last time they played anyone in the SEC (other than UK) was us in 1993 with a 45-10 whooping. My first time in Neyland I must say...With the UK fans here, it's mutual SEC respect, so they can go 11-1 in any football season!!!! |

| Their entire athletic department is in good hands with Jurich (at least he is not a puppet of the head football coach), but he knew this day was coming. I am just happy to watch Ricky P flounder away. |

| and the bottom line is that BP is leaving L'ville in much better shape than when he got there. HS got it going, John L kind of kept it there, and BP stepped it up a notch. big east champs, orange bowl win...i'd say he's left it in pretty good shape. and that job is much more desireable than it was 5-10 years ago.
they are legit BCS team, and had a legit shot at possibly playing for a NT this year.
not too shabby imo.
