Whoa...

did anyone just hear about Utah's starting left tackle? He is a Mormon like alot of Utah's players so he had a 2 year mission trip. No big deal, right? He is 6'4" 311 right now. Before his visit, he was a 6'4" 180lb safety. I can't imagine gaining 130 lbs in 2 years and being worth a damn.

They talked a bit about things like that during the BYU game. The players have to do their own conditioning program when they go on missions, so it speaks to the kind of discipline these guys have imho.

Apparently, he either has no discipline, or he wanted a change of position. Turned out pretty good for him though.

I'd say it took some discipline to put on that much weight and still be game ready. I wonder how much time these guys have to prepare before the season starts? If he had a whole off season, then yeah, not too much discipline there.

Depends, Mapu didn't have much time at all. I think it goes case by case.
