I'd like to be the first to welcome Coach Rodriguez to the end of his career.

The track record for the guys who have come after Coach Bryant isn't real encouraging.

I have to give Mal credit, he did go outside the Bama family to pick a HC up. Who knew people that didn't play at Bama could actually coach too??

The ones that DID play there haven't exactly burned up the sidelines, they might as well go "outside".

I do commend him though. Going "outside the family" in Alabama isn't a popular decision.

If it's true, I might consider that one of the dumbest moves a coach has made in a while..

Good luck to him, he'll need it.

Is hiring outside the Bryant lineage even legal in Alabama? Didn't they codify such a prohibition after the Mike Price debacle?

Dumb because it's a million more a year or because it is Bama? A coach with half a set of balls could have won 9 games last year, you agree?

I'm not sure Bob Stoops would have won 9 games with that team. Not at all impressed with their personnel.

These rumors are like a broken record. "The ink is dry! With coach *insert name*"

In about 4 years, CRR will be looking back on what he had at WVU while he looks for another coaching job.

My prediction:

Year 1 - hailed as program savior, children born in 07 will be named Rich or Rod

Year 2 - some signs of cracking are overwhelmed by calls to "let him get his players in here"

Year 3 - 50/50 on he don't do it like the Bear - Auburn is starting to say "Fear the BigToe" as second hand is filling up.

Year 4 - worst hiring decision every made - Mal Moore and RR must go.
