| Smyrna's star is Rod Wilkes. He is a WR/S and will be one of the top players in the state next year. His brother is current Vol Marsalous Johnson. We need to get this kid. |

They are both juniors. Our running back had 213 yards rushing.Marsalous was on the sideline last night watching the game, talking with a few players.First ever football state championship for Smyrna.I hope TN had scouts at all theses games , there are outstanding players all around! 1A to 5A.

BTW, I heard that the Smyrna benchwarmers were taunting the Ravenwood fans with their State C-ship baseball caps at the end of the game.

When Ravenwood beat Gallatin, the Ravenwood students were shouting all kind of obsenities at our players on their way out of the stadium. As far as I'm concerned, they got what they deserved if the Smyrna players rubbed their face in it a little |

| I did not read about the incident in the paper. Just heard about it from a co-worker who went to the Clinic Bowl. It's probably hard to calm down a bunch of kids who just won state. The funny/ironic part of the story I heard was that they passed out the caps before the game actually ended and it was guys who saw very little or no action on the field who were mouthing off.
BTW, I have no connection to Ravenwood HS and as a B-wood HS grad. I am probably more glad than disappointed that the cross-town upstarts did not win two in a row. |
