| Justin Gatlin I've just been told by a semi-reliable source that Sportscenter is reporting he ran a 3.85 40 for the Texans. As i refuse to have anything to do w/ ESPN, can anyone confirm this for me? Is there a reason he didn't do both sports here? |

| Yes they said that on ESPN.
The only reason he worked out with the Texans was because of his doping ban.
The Texans said they wouldn't be adding him to the roster at this time, eventhough the work-out went well. |

| Sam Graddy tried that in the late 80's with zero luck. Renaldo Nemiah had limited success as well. I don't see anything coming of it. I thought NFL coaches were more hesitant now to take on these kind of "project" players. |

| read the article on foxsports... didn't say anything about the 3.85 just that he was really fast and caught the ball well and they weren't signing him... and we wonder why they didn't draft reggie bush... does anyone know if we tried to get gatlin to play football? |

| 3.85?! Sign this man, as long as Texans can protect David Carr for 4 sec, Gatlin would be wide wide open. Uhh, but the problem is, Texans are not able to give their quarterback 2.5 sec.

| He needs to try out for the Chicago Bears and let Grossman just bomb them to him. |

| Speed doesn't translate into a good football player, just ask Leonard Scott.

| Hey! this thread came back here. so does anyone know why UT didn't try him out @ WR? i know the leonard scott experiment. but remember, it was scott who fumbled the baton earlier this year, not gatlin. Gatlin supposedly played HS ball til he got into a disagreement w/ his coach and the Texans said he caught the ball well. |

| right, just like he wasnt interested in the Eagles when they went after him not to long ago...it's funny how a pretty much career ending ban from track will spark a sudden interest in a football career. I cant believe someone (Al davis) wont risk the NFL min. on him as a KO return man. |
