| Rushing the court/field what are your thoughts on this subject?
i having a debate right now over; if it was acceptable for OSU fans to rush the field after the game Saturday. i feel that if your team is #1 in country, there is no need for it. i also feel that if you are a fan of a major college program, and have won a National Title in the last 20 years, then you also have no reason to rush the field after a big game.
i also don't feel that Tennessee fans rushing the field was wrong, when we beat Florida in 98, but i would feel differently if our fans did it now.
is there certain criteria to be used to decide if acceptable or not? if so, what should that be? |

| you just beat your biggest rival who was #2 in the country and undefeated and you just assured yourself a spot in the National title game.
i have no problem with it. It's not like they rushed the feild after beating N'Western.
if UT was #1 and we beat a #2 FL or Bama on the last game of the season to win the conf. and slam dunk a spot in the NT Game, do you think the feild would get rushed? Me thinks so.

| Also, it isn't like they were rushing the field and tearing down the goal post, they were just celebrating. I don't see anything wrong with rushing the field and celebrating with the team. I have rushed the court at a few basketball games, and it is awesome.

| I hear field-rushing is trendy in the Big East.

| i just don't see the point of the #1 team in the nation doing it. they were favored in the game and it's not like this is A) their first #1 ranking B) their first NCG berth C) the first time they beat Michigan to clinch an undefeated season D) the first time they beat Michigan.
i can see Louisville doing it after the beat WVU or Rutgers after they beat Looye-ville. first big wins in the history of the program.
i guess i am the only one who subscribes to the 'act like you've been there before' theory. |

It was the first time ever that these two teams have faced each other when both were undefeated and ranked 1 and 2 in the country. It was arguably the biggest game ever between the two teams and it secured a spot for OSU to play in the National Title game.

Smart ideal! |
