Richt says no coaching changes...

AJC.com is reporting Mark Richt has stated there will be no coaching changes. Evidently the saying "for every W in Willie there are two L's" doesn't go far at Butts-Mehre.

Not to pile on . . . but honestly, in the last 30 years I wonder how many teams have lost to both Kentucky and Vandy in the same year??

The scary thing for UGA is that they are 6-4 with Auburn and Ga Tech looming. At this point, winning either one of those would seem like a miracle.

Wonder if he is in any danger for not making changes if they finish 6-7.

Just curious, who was the 12th game that Georgia added and did they win?

Sparked my interest. The only teams to lose to both Kentucky and Vanderbilt since 1975 were the '98 and '99 South Carolina teams. Now joined by '06 Georgia.

A lot of SEC West teams got lucky though, such as Mississippi and Mississippi State who have gotten both in the same season a couple of times, or the Bama team that had to forfeit all those games.

I may be proven wrong next year, but I see this as possibly holding Richt back from being a GREAT coach. Even Fulmer made changes after a similar season, and people STILL berate him for being too loyal to his coaches. Look for this attitude to drop Richt down on the "great" coaches list. I think he's been coaching in the SEC long enough now for me to compare him to CPF, and 6 months ago he would have been leading... now I say Fulmer.

Georgia hadn't lost to both since 1973.

Martinez is the punching bag. There is a nice little ground swell since word is the recruiting efforts are actually suffering.

I really don't know if they can win either of their last two games. Tech is their best chance and if Ball doesn't have his usual meltdowns, Tech pulls off a huge win for Chan. Chan needs that to be considered legit by the Tech faithful. You can have a good season at GT but it is not considered worthwhile unless you beat UGA.

they are basically doing exactly what we did last year. it will be interesting to see how UGA comes out next year. i would be surprised if they don't come out next year and are a lot better.

Just goes to show...those types of seasons can happen to anyone anywhere....and no one seems to be calling for Richt's head. I guess he's the benefactor of winning the SEC just 1 year ago instead of 8 years ago.

It's easy to presume that both Kentucky and Vanderbilt, 2006 editions, are the same old crappy bottom-dwellers. Vanderbilt still beat the Dogs between the Hedges, and certainly gave Florida all they wanted. Kentucky is 5-4 with 3 games to go (last year, after 9 games, they were 2-7), and, with probation behind them, are in a good place to go to their first bowl in a while. The could also end up 3rd in the SEC East.
