| | Senior Member | Hey Hatvol, how about Miami, now? I did not know about the former UM player, acting as announcer, reacting with delight to the fighting going on. Hat, I think his comments illustrate everything wrong with the University of Miami football program: "Win through sheer thuggery. And be proud of it." ESPN.com - NCF - FIU-Miami replay to air without Thomas' comments |

| | VN GURU | Lamar Thomas, former UM player, during CSS game coverage... Quote: |
"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Thomas said as the brawl raged out of control. "You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."
| Wow. Just, wow. |

Thomas goes on to say he hopes they continue the fight later, after the game. What is REALLY disgusting is how the fans in the stands are cheering the UM players who after the fight danced around like idiots. Once again, a large number of the people in the stands have absolutely nothing to do with the University of Miami. Just local punks who want to be "part of" the thug tradition.
Pathetic. |

As far as this goes... Listening to Dan Patrick right now. Apparantley The U's admin says they're "coming down hard" by suspending players for the Dook game. |

| | Official True Fan | The sad thing is, while it fails in comparison, is that it doesn't surprise me at all (that because its Miami). Some of them deserve to be kicked out of school IMO. Had that happened in the streets they'd be in jail right now. Swinging helmets, kicking guys on the ground.....lock 'em up....
And the stupid announcer....I think he'll lose his job. |

Wow. Just, wow. | Lamar Thomas has never been anything but a low rent Michael Irvin wannabe. Nothing he says would surprise me. He's a guy who was always able to run his mouth on the field because he knew the real bada$$es on the team could back him up. Kind of like Laimbeer running his mouth because he knew Mahorn, Edwards, etc. could take care of business if needed. |

For the record, I think Tupac was actually one of the great talents of the latter 20th century. I just found irony in anyone with that avatar ranting about "thugs.' |
