BOS Golf is well known for their putter refinishing. In their early days, as machine shop they milled some heads for Cameron thru a contract with Titleist. They also stamped and coated the heads. A couple of guys doing the work stole some Circle T stamps and were stamping retail heads with the Circle T logo. The putters were then listed on eBay and the guys ended up getting caught and the contract with Titleist ended. BOS had developed the oil can finish that was exclusive to Cameron back then. The Cameron Oil Can Classics were discontinued in 2000 but BOS continued doing oil can refinishes for Cameron up until the theft in 2003. After the theft and Cameron cut ties with BOS, the oil can finish for carbon heads was no longer available thru the Custom Shop.

Peyton Manning hits hole-in-one while golfing in Denver
Peyton with a hole in one. Glad to see retirement is treating him well. Last shot I watched him hit was a total duff from the tee on #15 at Pebble Beach followed by a "Damnit Peyton". Thought he was gonna break his driver over his knee.

Was able to check an item off the bucket list today. This was from the 10th fairway at Pebble Beach. By far the hardest course I've ever played.

Highly recommended if y'all get the chance. Pretty easy to get a tee time as well so long as it isn't peak season. And of course I had to rock the orange. Had at least 5 people come up to me and say "Congrats on the new coach" on the range and in the clubhouse.

Trying to plan our annual guys' golf weekend, and it was suggested that maybe NC mountain golf would be fun. Anyone know of good places to stay and play around Asheville/Western Carolina?

Stay at the Grove Park Inn.
Play the hotel course.
Eat the elk at the Red Stag.
Drink at one of about 87 microbreweries downtown.
Go back to the hotel and drink in the lobby.
Go downstairs and drink in the piano bar.
Go back upstairs and drink on the porch.

Rinse. Repeat

Harrah's Casino in Cherokee is a good option too.

Brasstown Valley and Old Toccoa Farm are good tracks if staying at one of the Harrahs properties.

I was at a meeting at Brasstown Valley a few months ago. Really good course and the hotel isn't bad. not a lot else going on up there though.

It was a fun a play ago. Old Toccoa Farm is a 9 hole course but was great. Has a links feel to it. Highly recommend it.

Would also recommend the Artisinal Buffet at GPI either Friday or Saturday.

If you want something a little smaller, Old Edwards Inn in Highland has a great course and accommodations are top notch.
