College Stadiums going Corp.

It looks like the Terps have sold out thier field to Chevy Chase Bank for 20 mil. This is aweful IMO. I hate the corp. names on the NFL fields and stadiums. With the amount of money thrown around, I think it is only a matter of time before we see an all corp. NCAA. I don't want to see First Tennessee Field at Pilot Stadium. Ugg...

Luckily, as long as Hamilton is AD, he said he would never do that to Neyland Stadium or Thompson Bolling Arena.

He said that he would look into doing it at other smaller venues on campus, but those two would not give out corporate naming rights.

Of course it is Maryland leading the way. It is surprising that it has taken this long for their football stadium to go the way of their basketall arena. However, looking out on the tradition of college football, while some programs that lack tradition will definitely sell the naming rights, places like Allen Field House, Cameron Indoor Stadium, and Neyland will not lose their names.

God I hope you are all correct. But money talks and BS walks. I wonder if they throw 100mil at UT of they would turn it down.
